Arguably the Best Production Ever Presented by Piedmont Opera

Posted by Julie in News, Piedmont Opera 27 Oct 2013

Piedmont Opera will be presenting in Winston-Salem, NC, Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, in the composer’s bicentennial year. Read the full announcement here.

A cursed sea captain and his ghostly ship are doomed to wander the ocean until judgment day, in search of true love – his only chance of redemption. A beautiful young heroine, desperate to escape her restricting world, brings salvation when she abandons her life to prove her love for the captain.

Three performances will happen on October 25, 27 matinee, and 29, 2013, respectively at 8 PM, 2 PM, and 7:30 PM. Tickets are available at the Stevens Center Box Office (call 336-721-1945; as of today, no more online sales).

This show is not to be missed, by Wagner lovers in particular, and opera lovers in general.

“By some accounts, this is arguably the best production ever presented by Piedmont Opera, and this is saying a lot, given our admiration for this brave company that never disappoints its public, and always puts together compelling and handsome shows with great musical values.”
